Special Base Pay Merit Increase

A Special Base Pay Increase can be an effective tool for recognizing outstanding performance or for addressing retention and market demands. This reward strategy is available to CTU, APSA, APA and non-union employee groups. These special increases should generally be awarded no more than once per year per employee.

To implement this type of increase, the unit administrator submits a change in pay using the Pay Rate Change function in the EBS portal. A Supporting Documentation Form must be completed explaining the exceptional performance or market concern. Unit authorized signatures are required on the Form in order for the special increase to be processed. See the Special Increases for Support Staff Policy and Procedure for additional information.
