ARO: New Job Postings Website Launches on April 26

ARO Logo

A new job postings website for MSU will launch on April 26 called Careers @ MSU. Internal applicants will access job postings via the Careers @ MSU tile in the EBS Portal. The internal site displays internal-only postings, along with postings open to all applicants. The benefit to applying to a posting through the internal site is employee preference over external applicants, where applicable. It also takes into consideration seniority ranking and eligibility for support staff positions.

The new job postings website is part of the Agile Recruiting and Onboarding (ARO) project to implement PageUp, a new applicant tracking system in place of PeopleAdmin, also known as MAP or COMPASS. View the Applicant video on how to use the new Careers @ MSU site. You can also reference the System Features for Applicants tip sheet. These and other resources are available on the ARO project website. Questions can be directed to MSU Human Resources at 517-353-4434 or SolutionsCenter@hr.msu.edu.

New Human Resources Website Is Live

MSU HR Website Homepage 2017

MSU HR launched our redesigned hr.msu.edu website on April 17. The improved site offers a better user experience and works in partnership with the new Careers @ MSU job posting website going live on April 26. In addition to being responsive and more accessible, the redesign includes key features such as:

  • A new employee-focused side of the website called Spartans @ Work, with content and navigation for prospective and current employees, students and retirees.
  • Updated navigation to make the most sought after information easy to find and access.
  • Interactive features, such as handbook and policy browsing functionality and customized pages for specific faculty groups.
  • Featured content options through homepage banners and news items.
  • Better brand alignment with the university.

We encourage you to visit and explore the new HR website. Your feedback is welcome as we continue to make improvements throughout the spring and summer. Use the website feedback form or email HRcommteam@hr.msu.edu.

New Research Administration System Goes Live April 24

Research Administration Project

MSU is implementing a new Research Administration System (KC or Kuali Coeus) for managing sponsored projects throughout their life-cycle. The new system goes live on April 24, with proposal development and conflict of interest functionality. Educational opportunities are available to learn the new system. Outstanding Supervisor Award Nominations Due

Outstanding Supervisor

Nominations for the 16th Annual Outstanding Supervisor Award are being accepted through June 30. Online nomination forms should be submitted through the WorkLife website. This award honors supervisors who consistently demonstrate work/life sensitivity. Selected recipients will be honored with surprise celebrations on or around National Bosses Day on October 16. Contact the WorkLife Office at 517-353-1635 or email worklife@msu.edu for more information.

Identity Theft, Unemployment Fraud and Tax Fraud

Protect Yourself against Identity Theft

As in years prior, identity theft, unemployment fraud and tax fraud scams continue to be a source of frustration throughtout the United States. Each year, only a very small number of MSU employees have been victims of these particular types of fraud. Over the past year, MSU has devoted considerable attention and resources to reduce the amount of sensitive personal information such as SSNs it stores and uses and to maximize the security of all SSNs that still need to be stored on its servers. Read more about ways you can protect yourself.
