Enrollment Information

You can access information about all the listed programs and enroll online by visiting www.MSUBenefitsPlus.com. Various programs may have open enrollment periods that limit when you can enroll in coverage. Premiums for any programs you may choose to enroll in will be deducted from your pay check on a monthly basis. The MSU Benefits Plus administrator is Corestream.

To sign up for an account on www.MSUBenefitsPlus.com, you will need your MSU ZPID number. You can locate your ZPID on your MSU Spartan Card ID badge, or you can find the number on the EBS Portal

Vision Insurance

Vision insurance coverage can help with the costs of glasses and contact lenses for you and your family. Review the plan summary sheet for basic information about the plan coverage and rates.

Benefits-eligible faculty and staff can enroll during open enrollment in the fall. Outside of open enrollment, benefits-eligible new hires or newly-eligible faculty and staff have 30 days to enroll from their date of hire or date of eligibility.If you are a new hire or newly eligible and wish to enroll in VSP, please call MSU Benefits Plus Customer Care at 888-758-7575.

Legal Insurance

With ARAG Legal Insurance, you can access legal assistance in a wide variety of situations when you need it without worrying about the costs. Review the plan summary sheet for basic information about the plan options and rates.

Enrollment is only available during the fall annual enrollment, unless you are benefits-eligible new hires or newly-eligible faculty and staff. New hires or those newly eligible have 30 days to enroll from their date of hire or date of eligibility. If you are a new hire or newly eligible and wish to enroll in ARAG, please call MSU Benefits Plus Customer Care at 888-758-7575.

Critical Illness

Critical Illness insurance gives you extra cash in the event you or a covered family member experience a covered illness. This money can be used to offset unexpected medical expenses or for any other use you wish. The plan offers $10,000, $20,000, or $30,000 of Guaranteed Issue coverage. Review the plan summary sheet for basic information about the plan coverage and rates.

Long-Term Care Insurance

Benefits-eligible faculty and staff are able to enroll in Long-Term Care Coverage with Transamerica. These policies are individual (as opposed to group) plans and evidence of insurability is required. There is no formal enrollment period for Long-Term Care coverage. You may apply anytime and your coverage start date will be determined by whether and when your application is approved through the underwriting process. MSU is currently offering benefits-eligible faculty and staff opportunities to consult with Long-Term Care specialists from the Todd Benefits Group, a third party firm specializing in long-term-care benefits, to help you select the Transamerica options that may best meet your needs. Auto and Home Insurance

Benefits-eligible faculty and staff are able to get bids from and enroll in auto and home insurance with either MetLife or Liberty Mutual. Enjoy the convenience of having your home and auto insurances payroll deducted. There is no formal enrollment period for Auto and Home insurance. The coverage period will vary depending on when your policy is issued. 

Pet Insurance

Benefits-eligible faculty and staff are able to enroll in pet insurance with Nationwide. Nationwide offers several plan options that may cover surgeries, diagnostic tests, hospitalization, prescriptions, wellness exams, etc. There is no formal enrollment period for pet insurance. The coverage period will vary depending on when your policy is issued.

Retiree Benefits

MSU retirees have the opportunity to enroll in legal coverage offered by ARAG and vision insurance through VSP.

Vision Insurance

Retirees and their benefits-eligible dependents may purchase optional, retiree-paid vision coverage through VSP® Vision Care. VSP offers savings on your eye exam and eyewear, and discounts on laser vision correction. Review the plan summary sheet for basic information about the plan coverage and rates.

Some highlights of the VSP plan include personalized care, a large variety of available eyecare, ease of use and a satisfaction guarantee. You may enroll at any time, with coverage effective the first of the month following enrollment.

Legal Insurance

For as low as $18.30 per month, this voluntary benefit offers retirees and their families added protection from many of today’s legal matters. When you choose to work with an ARAG network attorney, most covered legal matters are 100% paid-in-full. Some of the covered services include:

  • Consumer Protection, such as insurance disputes, warranty issues, telemarketing scams, auto purchase/repair and contractor problems.
  • Financial Protection for debt collection matters, Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security and veterans benefits.
  • Real Estate, such as buying/selling a home, home equity loans and refinancing.
  • Wills and Estate Planning, including durable/financial power of attorney, inheritance rights, health care power of attorney, elder law and living wills.

You can also choose the UltimateAdvisor Plus™ plan ($22.50 per month), which includes additional benefits:

  • Identity Theft Protection. From credit monitoring to lost wallet and identity restoration, your personal information and financial standing are protected.
