MSU Specific offerings

Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center (preferred campus hotel): The Kellogg Center offers MSU employees the Big Ten rate for overnight accommodations. This rate is based on availability and is not available during home football games or graduation. A valid MSU employee ID may be required at check-in. MSU Abrams Planetarium (517-355-4672): The Sky Theater houses a Digistar, the world's only computer-graphic based planetarium projector, a black light art gallery, exhibit hall, gift counter and more. Special shows designed for families are presented on Sundays.

MSU Athletic Events (517-355-1610): Tickets can be purchased for all athletic events based on availability. Discounts are available on season tickets only. Go Green cards can be purchased by Faculty/Staff for $50.00 for admittance to all regular home season Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Men's/Women's Soccer, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Softball and Baseball. 

MSU Athletics – Junior Spartans: The official kid’s club for Michigan State fans 8th grade and younger. Register your small but mighty Spartan fan today! Two membership options are available for purchase! The “Green Membership” includes an invitation to the annual Jr. Spartan Tailgate and game tickets! All green and white members will receive a membership kit, free admission (w/ membership card) for members and two guests to specific events (see website for details), reduced ticket opportunities, and invitations to special events. MSU Bakers (517-353-9310): For the best in campus baked goods call MSU Bakers! They specialize in a variety of baked goods such as freshly baked cakes, cookies, brownies etc. MSU Bakers currently offers delivery services for $5 to on-campus and off-campus locations with a 48823, 48824 or 48825 zip code. For 15% off an online order, Spartans can use the code BAKE15.

MSU Bike Service Center (517-432-3400): The MSU Bike Service Center, located in the center of campus under the Bessey Hall auditorium just 300 ft. northwest of the Farm Lane Bridge, provides new and used bicycle sales, as well as a full menu of repair services. Bike rentals (short and long term) are also offered as are a variety of bike-related accessories (tires, tubes, lights, fenders, helmets, tools, oils, etc.). Other services include secure, covered bike parking facilities, long-term bike storage, bike assembly (for those shipping their bikes to MSU) and a free ‘do-it-yourself' repair station outside next to the free 24-hour air station is available for those who know how to do their own adjustments/ repairs. A number of classes related to bicycling maintenance, safety and commuting are also offered throughout the year. A growing library of bike books and videos/ DVDs can also be checked out for free. The Center's hours vary by semester; check the web site for current hours or call. New bikes can also be viewed and purchased online via the MSU Surplus Store.

MSU Broad Art Museum: The museum is expressly dedicated to exploring contemporary culture and ideas through the probing gaze of international artists. Many free and public events are held each month. Admission is free.

MSU College of Music (517-355-3345): Concerts and recitals performed by faculty artists, ensembles, guest artists and students. Many performances are free and others are reasonably priced. Ticket prices on the College of Music website.

MSU Community Music School (517-355-7661): CMS offers a five-percent discount to all MSU faculty and staff. To enroll or for more information, please visit the website or call 355-7661. CMS is the outreach division of the MSU College of Music, bringing CMS music education and music therapy to those of all ages and abilities within the community. Offerings include: instruction for piano, voice, carillon as well as all string, wind, and percussion instruments, early childhood music, MSU Children's Choirs, Choral Union, music therapy, summer camps, Suzuki strings and piano, folk music, adult beginning band and adult string ensemble. CMS is located at 4930 S. Hagadorn Road in East Lansing.

MSU Dairy Store (517-353-8446): The Dairy Store produces a variety of ice creams and cheeses on site. Products are moderately priced and taste great!!

MSU Department of Theatre (517-355-6690): annually mounts a full range of musical theatre, plays and dance productions. 10-17% discounts are given to MSU faculty and staff on all Main Stage performances. Tickets are available at www.whartoncenter.com

MSU Employee Assistance Program (517-355-4506): Provides personal support, problem solving, counseling and consultation to MSU employees and to their immediate family members.

MSU Federal Credit Union: The Credit Union provides financial services to MSU employees including auto and home loans, and free use of ATMs on-campus and at Quality Dairy stores. Members of the MSUFCU are also eligible for discounts on auto and homeowners insurance through AAA and Citizens' MEEMIC, and discount tickets from Cedar Point, Sea World, and Greenfield Village.

MSU Forest Akers Golf Course (517-355-1635): The golf course offers two 18-hole championship layouts, a state-of-the-art practice facility, and two full-service golf shops with a full complement of services. Employees with MSU ID card receive reduced rates.

MSU Health4U (517-353-2696): Health4U aims to enhance and expand wellness efforts in partnership with units throughout the University and the community. They offer a wide variety of services are to support individuals in achieving a healthier, happier, longer life. Health4U's ultimate goal is the good health of all members of the MSU community.

MSU Health Care and Olin Health Center Pharmacies (517-353-3000): Prescription and over-the-counter medications are provided at competitive prices. Delivery of medications to on-campus locations is available at no charge.

MSU Libraries (517-353-8700): The Library offers access to library services, books, periodicals, magazines, and databases. Employees should present MSU ID to receive free services.

MSU Meat Laboratory (517-353-9773): The Meat Lab offers a various array of meat products for purchase. Call for more information.

MSU Munn Ice Arena (517-353-7263): The ice facility provides a public skating schedule during the year. Employees receive discounted rates with valid MSU ID.

MSU Museum (517-355-2370): Displays anthropological, biological, geological, and historical and research collections in natural and cultural sciences, history, and folk-life. Admission is free, however a donation is suggested.

MSU Recreational Sports and Fitness Services: MSU Intramural (IM) Sports Facilities (IM Sports West: 355-5250; IM Sports East: 353-3136; IM Sports Circle: 355-4710) Access to buildings and indoor pools for general recreational use is free. Fitness Center, Group Exercise classes, organized leagues, and Club Sports is fee based and varies according to selected activity. A valid MSU ID is required for building entry and to purchase services.

MSU Residential and Hospitality Services (517-355-7457): If you're on campus, tired of eating fast food and looking for a well-balanced nutritional meal, visit a residence hall for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. MSU employees can purchase meal plans at discounted rates.

MSU Safe Place (517-355-1100): This program assists students, staff, faculty, alumni, retirees and their partners who experience relationship violence. Services include shelter, advocacy, support counseling, community educational programs and more. All services are confidential and free.

MSU School of Human Resources & Labor Relations: When registering and paying for School of Human Resources & Labor Relations' Professional Development program courses, MSU employees will receive a 25% discount.

MSU Surplus Store: Come find everything the university no longer needs, from computers, to furniture, electronics, lab equipment, farm equipment, vehicles and much more. The Surplus Store is open for departmental sales Monday through Friday noon to 3:30 p.m.. Public sales are Tuesday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

MSU Tech Store (517-432-0700): The MSU Tech Store offers you prices on computers that you are unable to get almost anywhere else. Because they exclusively sell to MSU students, faculty, staff and departments, merchandise is sold at special educational discounts.

MSU Tennis Facility (517-355-2209): MSU employees have access to MSU's indoor tennis facility, professional instruction, equipment rental and Pro-shop. MSU employees and retirees receive a discount with a valid MSU employee ID.

MSU Travel Office: The travel office has coordinated a variety of discounts for business and personal travel.

MSU University Stores (517-355-1700): MSU employees can purchase a variety of items that the University utilizes including diapers, batteries, and office supplies. Prices are competitive.

MSU Wharton Center for Performing Arts (517-353-1982): Offers a full schedule of touring Broadway shows, leading dance troupes, world-famous soloists, and ensembles. Discounts are given to Wharton Center subscribers and occasional 10-15% discounts on select performances are given to MSU employees.

MSU WorkLife Office: Educational programs and support, including Sick Child Care Service, Pregnancy Support, Student-Parent support and Elder Care Referrals are offered to MSU employees and students. Rates vary by program. "Things to do at MSU" is a free publication that highlights sights of interest at MSU and in the surrounding area.
