MSU-Recognized Same-Sex Domestic Partner Benefit Update

Michigan State University no longer provides employment benefits based on domestic partnership agreements to employee groups not covered by the January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2009 Health Care Agreement between MSU and the Coalition of Labor Organizations due to the Michigan Supreme Court's decision in National Pride at Work, Inc. v. Governor of Michigan, 481 Mich. 56 (2008). Accordingly, references to MSU-Recognized Same-Sex Domestic Partners in all University policies and documents (other than the 2006-09 MSU-Coalition Health Care Agreement) have been rendered invalid.
