Michigan Universities Coalition on Health (MUCH)
The Michigan Universities Coalition on Health, Inc. (MUCH) is a coalition of higher education institutions in Michigan dedicated to improving the quality and value while decreasing the cost of health care for higher education institutions throughout Michigan. MUCH was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) corporation on June 2, 2005 and membership includes 12 Michigan public universities. The mission of MUCH is to leverage the knowledge, resources and influence of its members to improve the value of employee benefit plans and services through better quality and contained costs for educational institutions, their employees, retirees and dependents. MUCH is able to negotiate contracts with the power and influence of the coalition speaking as one legal entity while ensuring the autonomy of its members to pursue their individual missions.
