Recipe for Health E-Messages: New Foods and New Tips

Think you know everything there is to know about green beans? Health4U and University Dining might still be able to teach you a thing or two!

Recipe for Health

Each month Health4U offers a Recipe for Health e-message with the month’s featured food, a recipe using that food and useful tips on the food.

The Recipe for Health project can introduce faculty and staff to new foods. From lentils to black beans to summer squash, there is a range of food for you to try. If you have ever been on the fence about trying one of the featured foods, the Recipe for Health e-message offers helpful information to make that choice easier.

There is also a wealth of healthful information for foods you already know or use. Information and tips include things to look for when selecting the food, how to clean the food and ways to cook the food.

The monthly e-messages include a recipe that features the food. In partnership with University Housing Dining Services, the dish is served in select residence halls at least once during that month. This gives you an opportunity to try the meal before you make it yourself!

Check out June’s featured food of green beans here: health4u.msu.edu/_pdfs/rfh/2009/rftJune.pdf.

If you would like to subscribe to the e-messages, fill out Health4U’s registration page and indicate that you would like to receive the monthly Recipe for Health. The registration page is available here: health4u.msu.edu/registration/registration.htm.
