Support Staff Policy for Work Schedules
Policy
Applies to: Regular and temporary University support staff
Purpose: Work schedules are established according to the needs and requirements of each unit and are designed to:
- Provide orderly and efficient service.
- Provide regularly consecutive hours of work where practicable.
- Avoid overtime.
The normal work week for most staff members consists of five 8-hour days, Monday through Friday. Office hours are normally from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one hour scheduled for lunch. A different schedule of hours and staggered shifts are maintained in some units.
