Support Staff Policy & Procedure for Licenses, Registrations & Certifications
Policy
Applies to: University support staff positions
It is the responsibility of employing departments to verify that employees within their units possess the necessary legal licenses, registrations or certifications to perform assigned job duties upon initial employment and on an ongoing basis.
Procedure
Department:
- Decides which licenses, registrations and certifications are required for the assignment.
- Submits this information on the Staffing Request form when establishing, reclassifying, or posting a vacancy.
- Examines licenses, registrations and certifications to ensure validity for employees being hired or already employed.
- Where appropriate, maintains appropriate records of required licenses, registrations, and certifications for external agency review.
