4.0 Action to Promote and Process for Promotion Decision - HP Faculty Handbook
Since extensive information is needed to make an adequate evaluation of the performance of each faculty member to be recommended for promotion, a comprehensive form has been developed specifically for the HP faculty member, which provides space for reporting activities such as instruction-undergraduate and graduate; research-creative and scholarly; public and patient care services; committee and administrative service and other indications of merit. This form has an expanded section in which to report on patient care services, since these will constitute a significant portion of an HP faculty member's duties. This form is based on the University form for the promotion of tenure system faculty members. General criteria for promotion for HP faculty members have also been developed.
The Departments are expected to develop faculty lists of the fixed term, tenured and/or tenure system faculty, and Health Programs Faculty in order that all individuals may be notified of opportunities for promotion review.
