Retirement Information & Helpful Hints

We hope you will find the following information helpful in retirement.

Retirement distributions may be subject to taxation by the State of Michigan.  You may want to consult a tax professional for advice prior to taking a distribution.  For information regarding recent State of Michigan income tax changes, please refer to the State of Michigan Department of Treasury website. All MSU retirement plans are subject to Minimum Distribution requirements.

You will always want to keep your 403(b) Plan and/or 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan investment vendor(s) informed of your current address. You may contact Fidelity at (800) 343-0860 and TIAA-CREF at (800) 842-2252 to report address changes. Additional investment vendor contact information.

All retirees automatically become members of the MSU Retirees Association (MSURA).  If you would like to volunteer or want additional information, you may contact MSURA at 22 Nisbet Bldg, 1407 S.
