2011-04-14 Benefits Open Enrollment and Fair Dates Announced

The annual MSU Benefits Open Enrollment will be held from Monday, April 18 through Tuesday, May 17, 2011. This is the time of year when all eligible employees can re-evaluate their benefits needs and make changes to benefits selections. These changes will take effect July 1, 2011.

There will be three Benefits Fairs during open enrollment where faculty and staff can learn about benefits options and ask questions of benefits plan vendor representatives and Human Resource staff members:

- Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the MSU Union, Parlors B & C.

- Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Nisbet Building, First Floor.

- Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the International Center, Spartan Rooms B & C.

In addition to the Benefits Fairs, there will be open enrollment site labs each day during open enrollment. This year all employees will need to complete open enrollment through Employee Self Service (ESS) as part of the Enterprise Business Systems (EBS). Attend a site lab and EBS staff will walk you through how to complete open enrollment in the new system. See the current schedule at www.hr.msu.edu/openenrollment.

A 2011 Open Enrollment Guide will soon be mailed to MSU faculty and staff. The online version is available now at www.hr.msu.edu/openenrollment. This edition includes benefits options available for the 2011-12 plan year.
