2009-11-23 Three important benefits announcements

1. All benefits-eligible MSU faculty and staff will soon receive information via U.S. mail about a new Generic Prescribing Program that will become effective on March 1, 2010. That information also is available online now at www.hr.msu.edu/generics.

2. The new Generic Prescribing Program could potentially impact the amount of funds employees choose to put into their Health Care Spending Accounts during FSA Open Enrollment. For this reason, MSU Human Resources is extending the FSA Open Enrollment deadline to December 4, 2009. If you have already enrolled but wish to change your contribution amount, you can re-enter the enrollment system and change your contributions. If you haven’t yet participated in FSA Open Enrollment but wish to do so, you have until December 4, 2009.

3. MSU Human Resources invites you to use a new planning tool called FSA Informed Enrollment. This online system allows you to view information about your previous medical costs and has tools to help you determine how much you may want to contribute to a Health Care Spending Account.

Instructions for accessing both the FSA Informed Enrollment tool and the FSA Online Open Enrollment system are as follows:

To access FSA Online Open Enrollment, go to www.hr.msu.edu, click eHR and log in. Once you are logged in, choose the Benefits Enrollments and Information link followed by the Benefits Enrollment/Changes link. Click on the FSA Open Enrollment link and then on the next page choose the Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment link.

To use the FSA Informed Enrollment tool, go to www.hr.msu.edu, click eHR Login and log in. Once you are logged in, choose the Benefits Enrollments and Information link and then choose the FSA Informed Enrollment link.

If you have questions about any of the preceding information, please contact MSU Human Resources Benefits at 517-353-4434, 1-800-353-4434 or via e-mail at benefitsinfo@hr.msu.edu.
