11.1 Office of the Provost
The Office of the Provost is prepared to offer a variety of assistance to all academic units in their efforts to attract scholars who are women, minorities and persons with disabilities to Michigan State University. Within the Office of the Provost, the Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Academic Human Resources, (353-5300) is charged with the primary responsibility of aiding units and colleges with the recruitment and professional enrichment of all faculty, with particular emphasis on women and minorities. This individual is available to meet candidates who are being seriously considered for faculty appointments, to discuss the University's expectations for promotion and tenure, and to describe the various affirmative action support services for faculty. If assistance is desired in recruiting or in creating faculty development programs, the Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Academic Human Resources should be contacted.
