02. Appointment Basis (Staff Handbook for the Continuing Appointment System of the NSCL)

2.1    Appointments in the CA System will be on a full-time, annual year (12 months) basis, without end dates and with salaries paid in 12 equal installments on the last working day of each calendar month. Academic year (9 month) appointments may be recommended at the discretion of the Laboratory Director.

2.2    CA Staff members are eligible for consideration for partially supported leaves which meet the criterion of enhancing the research activities and capabilities of both the individual staff member and the Laboratory group research program. (See Appendix II for information on other leaves.)
