7.0 Medical Service Plan for Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine; Practice Plan for the College of Nursing and College of Veterinary Medicine
The Medical Service Plan for the Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine and the Practice Plan for the College of Nursing provides a common framework within which professional fee income generated by faculty members of the three colleges is managed. These plans were approved by the Board of Trustees July, 1976, and revised on March 31, 1983, and February 10, 1995, and take precedence over all previous plans. The purpose of the plans is to improve the means to supplement basic support for Programs of the Medical and Nursing Colleges; sustain and enhance faculty incentives to engage in patient care services which benefit education programs, the public and the professional development of the faculty; and make it financially feasible to recruit and retain highly capable faculty necessary to develop and sustain quality programs. All faculty members appointed under the Health Programs Faculty Appointment System will participate in the Medical Service Plan or College of Nursing Practice Plan or College of Veterinary Medicine Practice Plan, where applicable. Income generated under the Plans is subject to ceiling limits set by the Colleges in accordance with the Medical Service Plan and College of Nursing Practice Plan procedures.
