Staff Changes: Toya Curry and Debbie Lake. There was discussion of Toya Curry's new role with Student Insurance. She is replacing Tonya Clark. It was mention that Debbie Lake is no longer involved with student insurance. She has taken on other responsibilities in HR. There was discussion of the new student insurance team. Toya Curry and Margo Rufle will be doing an alpha split in assisting students. Margo Rufle (353-4434 x 144) will handle students with names beginning with (A-K) and Toya Curry(353-4434 x 170) will handle students with the names beginning with ( L-Z). Both are available to help assists all students if the other person is not available.
SIAG Schedule and Meeting Times: It was decided that we would have SIAG meetings on a bi-monthly, the same as last year.
Student Health Subsidy Program(SHSP): An overview of the plan was given. There was discussion on the eligibility requirements for students. A brochure was handed out.
Enrollment/Waiver Deadlines: The deadline to enroll for Fall/Annual coverage is 9/30/01. The deadline for students to waive health insurance is 9/30/01.
Plan Changes: Services added to the plan: Annual Pap Smear covered at 100% if services received at Olin, Free Blood Glucose Monitoring Systems to any insured student or dependent member with diabetes. Students may contact Chickering. Fitness Program that offers special membership rates at fitness clubs nationwide, student may visit Aetna U.S. Healthcare web site at http://www.aetnaushc.com/products/fitness.html , and the Vision One Discount Program now offers a 15 percent discount off the provider's usual charge for Lasik corrective surgery. A participating provider may be found by calling (800) 422-6600. Changes in the plan: Dependent children no longer required to go to MSU Healthteam, can go to any provider that participates.
SI Web Site: A demonstration was given of the new Student Information web site( http://www.hr.msu.edu/depts/benefits/stuinfo/ ) which has a Community Resource Guide Home Page; Student Health Insurance Home Page and a Student Health Subsidy Program Home Page. Students can access information; including a policy summary, on-line waiver form, individual eligibility/waiver status look-up, latest news; SHSP and SIAG member listing. The members updated their information and the updates will appear on the web shortly.
There was also discussion regarding claim usage from the previous policy year. Benefits will follow-up with Chickering.
