FSA Enrollment
Your participation in the Flexible Spending Accounts is voluntary. Enrollment is not automatic - you must re-enroll each year to participate, even if you wish to continue the same annual contributions from year to year.
The annual maximum reimbursement for DCSA is $5,000 per family. The annual maximum reimbursement for HCSA is $5,000 per eligible employee and $10,000 per household when both the employee and the spouse are MSU employees. If you do not enroll in a FSA when you are first eligible, you must wait until the next open enrollment period before you can enroll, unless you experience an event that would permit a mid-year election change.
A mid-year election change allows you to begin, stop or change the amount of your spending account contributions. Qualifying mid-year/life event changes are:
- Marriage or Divorce
- Birth, adoption or legal guardianship of your child
- Death of a Spouse or Dependent
- Change in your employment status
- Change in your spouse's coverage or job
- Unpaid leave of absence
- Change in Day Care Provider
Enroll Online to make qualifying life event changes over the Internet.
